Showers of Blessing

The files below are being posted for the members of the New England Conservatory Millennium Choir who have two big concerts this upcoming weekend - Saturday, February 19 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, February 20 at 3 p.m. - both in Jordan Hall at the Conservatory.

They are learning a song I composed called "Showers of Blessing" and it's no easy feat to remember all of the words. I hope these files aid in the process! Lyrics are below as well. I apologize in advance for the lousy singing, but you'll get the idea!

"Showers of Blessing"
David F. Coleman, (c) 2008

Verse 1 (Sopranos and Altos)
Morning has come, I see the sun arise.
The night has passed and now at last
The wait is over, (the wait is over)
I made it over. (I made it over)
The time has come. Tell everyone
The harvesting has already begun.

Chorus 1
I feel showers of blessing falling on me,
Spirit manifesting all around me.
Everything I see is confirmation reassuring me
there shall be showers of blessing.

Verse 2
I must profess I know I’m blessed to be
Alive today. I’ve come to say
Amazing grace (how sweet the sound)
That saved a wretch (like me)
I once was lost but now I’m found
I once was blind but now I see and shout

Chorus 2
I feel showers of blessing falling on me,
Spirit manifesting all around me.
Everything I see is confirmation reassuring me
there shall be showers of blessing.

Bridge
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so
He has heard our cries, and now the rain flows

Let it fall, let it fall, let it fall on me
(6x)

The time has come. Tell everyone
The battle is over, the victory is won!

Chorus 3
I feel showers of blessing falling on me,
Spirit manifesting all around me.
Everything I see is confirmation reassuring me
The promises He told me of, the floodgates pouring from above
The blind shall see, the lame shall walk
The deaf shall hear, the mute shall talk
Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess
Of His mercy and His Holiness
And one day He will crack the sky
And all creation will reply
With Glory Hallelujah! Sing to
Our Lord, our Savior, and our King!

There shall be showers of blessing!
There shall be showers of blessing!
There shall be showers of blessing!
Let it fall, let it fall, let it fall on me
Let it fall, let it fall, let it fall on me
Let it fall, let it fall, let it fall on me

Showers of blessing
